Thank you for your interest in employment with Peninsula Services. Please read the following information, as it may help you in making the decision to apply for our current job opening(s). Peninsula Services was incorporated in 1971 by a group of concerned citizens as a residential program. Since that time, the agency’s services have expanded to include vocational and living skills training and job placement for persons with disabilities. The agency is committed to the philosophy that all persons have the ability to excel and we pursue that belief with a very dedicated Board of Directors, highly committed and talented staff, as well as the assistance of employers, advocates, families, and friends all working together. Peninsula Services’ mission is to assist persons with developmental disabilities, mental illnesses, and other challenges in developing skills and capabilities by providing a wide array of rehabilitative and supportive services. Peninsula Services is nationally recognized for its achievements by NISH, was chosen as Kitsap County’s Greenworks Company of the Year and is fully accredited by CARF. Members of our staff and Board of Directors have been awarded Employee, Humanitarian, and Professional of the Year from ARC. Our Executive Director was chosen as the Bremerton Rotarian of the Year for 2004. We are proud to be a United Way and ADA agency.
It is a requirement by accrediting agencies that 75% of our direct labor be performed by persons with disabilities. Because of this requirement, if you are interested in employment with Peninsula Services and have a disability, your chances of being hired will increase if you disclose your disability. After you are offered the job but before being hired, you will need to provide medical documentation indicating your disability. Keep in mind all information disclosed to the agency will be kept confidential.
Please indicate which statement applies to you:
_____Yes, I have a disability and would like to have my application placed on the priority/preferred processing list. I will provide documentation if offered a job with Peninsula Services.
_____No, I do not have a disability, but would like to be considered for employment.
Please let us know if you need assistance in completing the application. All job offers are contingent on passing a background check, reference check, and urinalysis. This process will be completed prior to starting employment with Peninsula Services.
