Empower through Employment.
Navigating Employment for Adults with
Disabilities.
Since 1971
Founded in 1971, Peninsula Services is a professional, certified, and caring non-profit organization focused on assisting adults with disabilities to find integrated, meaningful community employment throughout Kitsap County. We utilize the branches of our organization and our vocational department to “Empower through Employment.”
Our Mission
Our mission is simple yet profound: to empower individuals with developmental disabilities through meaningful employment. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to contribute to their community, develop their skills, and achieve a sense of accomplishment and independence.
Over 50 years and still going strong!
About Us
Empowerment Through Employment: Building Inclusive Futures.
Welcome to Peninsula Services, where we are dedicated to transforming lives and building inclusive futures for adults with developmental disabilities. Based in Bremerton, WA, we proudly affiliate with SourceAmerica, a national leader in creating job opportunities for people with disabilities.
Our History
Peninsula Services was founded in 1971 by a group of parents and community advocates concerned with the lack of opportunities for their children with disabilities to receive practical training services for a meaningful life. Since our beginning, we have believed in expanding opportunities for adults with disabilities. We are dedicated to the philosophy that all persons have the ability to excel, to grow, and to achieve personal goals.
What We Do
We provide a supportive and inclusive work environment tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of our participants. Our programs are designed to:
-
Offer Skill Development: Through comprehensive training and on-the-job support, we help individuals enhance their capabilities, build confidence, and prepare for a variety of job roles.
-
Foster Independence: Employment is a key step towards greater independence. We aim to help our participants not only find jobs but also thrive in their roles and daily lives.
-
Create Community Impact: By partnering with local businesses and organizations, we facilitate job placements that benefit both our participants and the wider community.
We operate a variety of projects focused on providing job opportunities to persons with disabilities in the community through our own contracts and through funding our vocational department to assist in employment goals.
